Taylor Swift’s ex BFF Jaime King broke silence after both she and the pop star’s godson were absent from the singer’s lavish NYC wedding last week.
The 47-year-old White Chicks actress had been pictured with the Grammy winner, 36, on various occasions in the past and Swift also notably became the godmother of King’s son Leo back in 2015.
The status of their friendship was revealed last year after King lost custody of her two children two years following her divorce from Kyle Newman.
Swift and NFL player Travis Kelce said ‘I do’ in front of 1,000 guests at Madison Square Garden. His brother Jason was also one of the attendees and his daughters were flower girls.
However, the Love Story hitmaker’s five godchildren which include Leo and Blake Lively’s four kids were not in attendance at the extravagant nuptials.
King’s publicist, Jane Owen, told Page Six that King’s youngest son is ‘still too young for a large adult wedding celebration.’

However, Owen noted that King and Leo ‘were able to joyfully celebrate Taylor and Kelce’s marriage in his own very special, age-appropriate way during his summer break.’
King’s publicist also added, ‘The reason Jaime chose Taylor as Leo Thames’s godmother is because they both believe that being a godmother is a deeply personal and spiritual commitment that has nothing to do with public appearances.’
Daily Mail has reached out to Swift and King’s reps for comment, but has yet to hear back.
King shares Leo, 10, as well as James, 12, with Newman. The pair married in 2007 but their divorce was finalized in 2023.
Swift and King developed a close friendship after spending time together during the 2010s.
In 2014, King’s then-husband Kyle Newman notably directed the music video for Taylor’s hit track Style off her 1989 album.
The following year, the Love Story songstress became Leo’s godmother, which the Hart Of Dixie actress later opened up about.
During an interview with E! News in 2015, Jaime explained, ‘I always thought if I were to have another child that she would be the ideal godmother because the way she not only treats me but the way she treats other human beings.

Last year in March, the status of King and Swift’s friendship was revealed after the actress lost custody of her two kids.
A source told The U.S. Sun at the time that King and Swift do not have ‘regular contact’ but added that ‘there is still love.’
The insider informed the outlet, ‘Taylor and Jaime are not close anymore and don’t talk but there is still love.’
It was also revealed that the Bad Blood songstress will still send presents to her godson Leo and would ‘be there in a heartbeat’ if she needed to be.
King and ex-husband Newman entered a lengthy custody battle over their two children after their split. Last year in March, Newman was granted sole physical custody of their sons.
The judge said at the time that King must have her visits with her sons supervised until she finishes a mandated drug/alcohol program for around six months.

The Hart Of Dixie actress later became engaged to business investor Austin Sosa in July 2025. The pair married soon after, although an exact date is not known.
But after less than a year of marriage, it was revealed in January that Sosa filed for divorce, leaving King ‘blindsided.’
Following a bumpy 2025, King told the Daily Mail in March that she has an ‘exciting’ year ahead.
‘I’m doing four films this year, so 2026 is shaping up to be a really exciting year creatively,’ she said at the SXSW festival in Austin, Texas.
‘My children are always my greatest inspiration. Watching them grow, their brilliance and heartfelt natures I marvel in. They are as always the most important part of my life.’

Swift’s longtime publicist Tree Paine, who was also in attendance, offered details of the wedding in an email blast.
‘The bride and groom’s wedding ceremony looks have been created by Christian Dior Haute Couture.
‘They are designed by Jonathan Anderson, Creative Director of Dior Women’s, Men’s and Haute Couture Collections, in close collaboration with the Bride and Groom,’ Paine shared.
‘This is the designer’s first couture wedding dress for a world-renowned celebrity. Their shoes were custom made by Christian Louboutin and the bride wore Cartier jewelry.’
Paine also revealed that Swift did not have bridesmaids and the NFL player did not have groomsmen for the ceremony.

A-list stars that received a coveted invite were also spotted heading to the venue such as Karlie Kloss, Hugh Grant, Selena Gomez, Benny Blanco, Gigi Hadid, Bradley Cooper and Dakota Johnson.
Sir Paul McCartney performed during the ceremony and sang lyrics to I Want To Hold Your Hand. Fleetwood Mac’s Stevie Nicks also sang during the wedding festivities on Friday.
Kelce’s brother Jason was in attendance and his daughters served as flower girls throwing white and pink rose petals around the bride as she walked down the aisle.
