News Room : Photos reveal unexpected twist for Tess Crosley and husband after Lachie Neale affair blew their marriage apart – as telling ‘like’ hints at thawing relations with Jules

After weeks in the eye of the storm, the married woman at the centre of Lachie and Jules Neale’s split appears to have quietly steadied her personal life.

Former Mormon missionary Tess Crosley – who this week shared a cryptic Instagram post hinting there was ‘more than meets the eye’ after she was accused of a months-long affair with the Brisbane Lions star – was pictured outside her marital home in Camp Hill, 6.5km east of Brisbane’s CBD, on Tuesday.

The sighting was surprising because her husband Ben Crosley had told the Mail on January 18 that ‘she does not live here anymore’ after we knocked on their door seeking clarification on the state of their marriage.

Weeks earlier, on New Year’s Eve, Queensland Police officers had attended the same address to take ‘possession of a number of items following a welfare check’ – with Ben opening the door shirtless while Tess peered down from an upstairs window.

During this week’s sighting, Tess wore a brown and white polka-dot maxi dress, sunglasses, gold earrings and black sandals while taking out the bins and greeting an older couple walking by.

It’s unclear if the couple were her parents, in-laws or just neighbours, but the interaction seemed breezy enough with Tess smiling and chatting away.

In addition to our photos, another sign indicates the Crosleys may be trying to save their marriage after Tess’ alleged indiscretion with Lachie caused the former AFL captain’s seven-year union with hairdresser Jules to implode.

As of Thursday afternoon, investment company director Ben’s Facebook account lists him as ‘married to Tess Crosley’.

His public Instagram account also still features many photos of the couple, including their wedding pictures from when they tied the knot at Summergrove Estate.

While questions linger over whether the Crosleys’ marriage is still intact – and we note that Tess is not wearing a wedding ring – Mormon doctrine holds marriage as eternal and strongly encourages repentance and forgiveness in the wake of infidelity.

As Jules and Lachie navigate the divorce process, it remains entirely possible that the other couple in this sorry saga are trying to mend bridges.

That isn’t the only interesting development in the scandal that has engulfed the Lions since late December.

On Tuesday, Tess – who has remained active on social media since the cheating allegations surfaced – posted two photos of herself wearing a headscarf while sitting on a boat and gazing wistfully out to sea.

She added the telling caption: ‘There is always another story, there is more than meets the eye.’ Comments on the post were turned off.

The Mail noticed that one of the Instagram users to like the post was Pru Corrigan, the CEO of One Daydream PR – and Jules Neale’s publicist.

Why Ms Corrigan would double-tap the cryptic post is unclear, and it’s entirely possible she did so by accident.

But it could also potentially be a sign of thawing relations between Tess and Jules.

We contacted Ms Corrigan for comment but did not receive a reply.

It was two weeks ago that Jules, who shares two children with Lachie, confirmed she had joined the roster of Ms Corrigan’s influencer agency One Daydream.

The move signalled a professional split from husband Lachie, as she had previously shared a manager with the two-time Brownlow winner.

Speaking to the Mail at the time of Jules’ big shift, Ms Corrigan said she was excited to support the ‘gorgeous’ Jules in this new chapter of her life.

In particular, she was looking forward to working with Jules – a successful Perth hairstylist who put her career on hold to support her husband’s football commitments on the east coast – on fashion, beauty and lifestyle content.

The alleged cheating saga emerged back in December after Jules publicly claimed that she had been ‘betrayed in the most unimaginable way’.

Lachie later announced at a January 2 press conference that he and Jules were separating, adding that he would also be stepping down as the Lions’ captain.

Tess had been one of Jules’ best friends before her alleged affair with Lachie last year. The Neales and the Crosleys were close too, often socialising together.

The first sign of trouble in paradise came on Friday, December 19, when Jules took to Instagram to refute a Herald Sun story suggesting she and Lachie were ‘working through’ unspecified marital issues.

‘I want to make it very clear that I am not ‘working through’ anything,’ she wrote on her public profile. ‘I have been betrayed in the most unimaginable way.’

She would later hit out at Tess in a now-deleted Instagram comment, demanding the 30-year-old brunette take down photos of her and Ben celebrating Brisbane’s AFL premiership victory alongside Lachie and Jules.

‘Take these down, you idiot, you’re embarrassing yourself,’ Jules wrote, all but confirming Tess was the other woman.

Tess has remained active on social media since Jules identified her as the other woman. She is seen here celebrating her 30th birthday at a South Australian winery in January

Lachie eventually came clean on January 2, telling reporters he had ‘let [his] family down’ while refusing to confirm or deny cheating on his wife with her best friend.

This week, Lachie broke his silence on social media as he jetted to Western Australia to spend time with his son Freddie and daughter Piper, who attended her first day at kindergarten.

Jules had weeks earlier moved back to Perth with the couple’s children for a fresh start after the abrupt end of her marriage.

She and Lachie are in the process of selling their $2.43million Seven Hills home in Brisbane – just minutes from the Crosleys’ place in Camp Hill. Lachie has since moved into his own apartment in the city.
