Jackie ‘O’ Henderson has opened up about her shock cancer scare.
The radio queen, 50, revealed on KIIS FM’s Kyle & Jackie O show on Wednesday that doctors thought she was suffering from leukaemia.
The shock admission came as Jackie revealed she was scheduled for a colonoscopy on Thursday.
When her co-host, Kyle Sandilands, asked why she was having the procedure, she admitted that it was ‘a triple measure’ to rule out the disease.
‘I had blood tests done about eight months ago, and these things came up on the blood test where they actually thought I had a blood cancer – leukaemia,’ Jackie revealed live on air.
A shocked Kyle asked Jackie why this was the first time he was hearing of her health scare, and Jackie confessed she had been ‘nervous’ to share the news.

‘I didn’t want to mention it because I was a bit nervous,’ she continued.
‘I had to do a bone marrow biopsy because they were really quite sure that I had it.’
Thankfully, Jackie added that she was given the all-clear, despite doctors not knowing the cause of her elevated white blood cell counts.
‘They basically said with these markers it really is, pretty much…,’ the mother-of-one said, trailing off.
‘I went to the blood expert – the haematologist.
‘I got my bone marrow and it came back all clear and she said: “I actually don’t know. I’ve never seen this before, where someone has these high white cell counts”.’
Seeking confirmation, Kyle asked: ‘So you don’t have cancer?’ to which Jackie replied: ‘No I don’t. That was a while ago.’
‘It’s all good I’ll have the colonoscopy as a triple measure,’ she added.

Jackie said that the reason she raised her health scare on air was that she was concerned about having her colonoscopy.
‘The fasting and the prep that you have to do. I’ve been warned is pretty horrific when it comes to going to the toilet,’ she said.
‘I’ve been warned that “you’ll not be able to come into work tomorrow, you’ll have to broadcast from home”.
‘But they also said you will probably be leaving segments in the middle of it because there is literally no warning.’
Asking Kyle, who calls himself a ‘colonoscopy veteran’, to confirm or deny Jackie’s fears, the shock jock gave a very vivid description of what she could expect.
‘The forced evacuation out of your sphincter hole with no notice,’ he graphically described.
‘This is like Hillary Clinton’s foot shoved out of your a**e as if she’s starting a trailer bike.’
It’s not the first time Jackie has spoken about her health struggles on air, revealing in October last year that she had battled substance dependence for years.

She was also rushed to hospital in 2023 after experiencing symptoms of a heart attack, which turned out to be an infection.
In August that same year, Jackie revealed another cancer scare when she found a lump in her breast while preparing for a photo shoot.
Thankfully, Jackie later received an ‘all clear’ from doctors when she got a mammogram the day after she made her frightening discovery.
