Lauryn Hill was honored with the Living Legend Icon Award while Teyana Taylor received the Icon of the Year Award.
And the Ultimate Icon Award went to record executive Sylvia Rhone.
Lizzo herself is no stranger to the awards show and won the BET Award for Best Female R&B/Pop Artist back in 2020.

Lizzo has been candid with her fans about her ‘weight release’ journey which began in 2023.
She previously opened up about the topic during an episode of the On Purpose With Jay Shetty podcast. The songstress explained that she did not want to ‘lose anything’ but instead wanted to ‘win.’
‘I want to be very intentional about the words that come out of my mouth because there’s young people who are watching me and they’re experiencing what I’m putting into the world.
The star added, ‘They’re applying it to their own experience and their own life just like I did when I was a kid.’
Lizzo also got candid about ‘how the media treated people who gained and lost weight’ had an effect on her ‘brain chemistry.’
‘Be careful with your words because it can affect somebody in ways you don’t even know.’
The performer added, ‘Even me releasing the weight has affected people and I take that seriously. I take that responsibility. And because of that I want to transmute it into something that makes people feel comfortable and less afraid of it.’
