Taylor Swift’s reaction to one of her songs being used in Sydney Sweeney’s latest film The Housemaid has now been revealed by director Paul Feig.

At the film’s conclusion, viewers were able to her Swift’s 2017 track I Did Something Bad playing over the end credits.

‘Well, that’s the thing; you want to put a Taylor song in your movie, but she and her company have to approve it,’ Feig told the outlet.

He then admitted that he initially believed the songstress would not ‘clear’ the usage of the song.

‘So, we were tempting with it, and we were like, “It’s so perfect, but she’s never gonna clear this.” Then we showed she and her people the movie, and she approved it. So, I guess she likes it. Thank you Taylor!’

Sweeney – who took on a leading role in The Housemaid – also offered her thoughts on the importance of Swift’s song being played at the very end of the movie.

‘It’s so perfect,’ the Euphoria actress recently told People

Sweeney then explained, ‘And we were like, “We can’t lose this!” We were like, “You have to keep this!”‘

Seyfried also recalled watching the film and ‘when it came on, we screamed like little girls, and that’s the excitement of what Taylor Swift’s songs can bring.’

The Anyone But You star then added, ‘And it brings every generation together, which is so fun.’

Swift is no stranger to contributing to movie soundtracks over the years with some of her songs being heard in The Hunger Games, Fifty Shades Darker, Sing and Letters To Juliet.

Feig also told People that when Swift gave her approval ‘we were just like, “Oh my God.” I still get so happy when that comes up.’

'Then we showed she and her people the movie, and she approved it. So, I guess she likes it. Thank you Taylor!' Feig expressed; the director seen earlier this month in Hollywood

He added, ‘One reporter said like, “You should have a dance party at the end of the credits,” and I kind of feel like I wanted to get up and dance to her.’

Aside from Sweeney and Seyfried, other stars that were cast in the thriller include Brandon Sklenar, Michele Morrone and Elizabeth Perkins.

The film is based on the 2022 novel of the same name which was written by Freida McFadden.

Sweeney has also recently discussed her ‘dynamic’ with Seyfried in the ‘crazy’ thriller during a joint appearance on the Today show.

‘We were having so much,’ Sweeney said. ‘I think because it was so – there were so many twists and turns, it was crazy and unexpected. And we were just having a really great time.’

The Mean Girls actress jumped in to add, ‘We also, like, were kind of on the same page when it comes to our process and so, we just had fun.

‘You have to bring levity to some dark content and I think we – I think the dynamic we have in the movie is kind of electric because of the fact that we get along so well.’

The pair also humorously talked about having a ‘girls room’ on set, which consisted of a ‘big bed’ where they could unwind.

Sweeney also opened up about developing a close bond with Seyfried while filming The Housemaid.

‘Amanda and I became sisters. She was the bestest friend ever. We have so much fun together,’ she told Variety earlier this month.

‘And I actually think that when you have a scene partner and actor that you can have fun with and you feel safe with and free…

‘It actually makes those scenes even better because you feel safe and free to go crazy, explore new things and you’re not going to feel judged,’ the star continued.

‘I would love to [reprise the role],’ she revealed to People of her character named Millie.

‘I was such a huge fan of the books, so I would be just as happy as everyone else being able to see more Housemaids come to life and getting to explore more of Millie.’

Sweeney added, ‘She’s spicy. She is a fighter. She knows what she believes in and she stands up for it. I love characters like that. I love seeing movies that have just fully embraced female rage.’
