Captioning the heart-rending images, Ash paid a sincere tribute to his sister, admitting she had helped ‘shape’ his life.
‘My beautiful sister Cass, I know you hated social media. We all loved you; you didn’t deserve this ending. It was so unfair. Life can be so unfair,’ he wrote.
‘Without even trying, you shaped so much of my life. You were the reason I didn’t steer down a bad path.
‘I remember you vividly telling me, as a 15-year-old, that if I got arrested, you’d kill me and that I couldn’t get arrested because you would get in trouble at work.’
Continuing, Ash revealed the reason he applied for MAFS was because Cass had promised to watch while she underwent chemotherapy.
‘The reason I applied for that show was that you said you’d watch it during chemo; if I got on, then forced me to apply, only to second-guess after producers started ringing,’ he said.
‘You’re the reason I travelled so much and shared a lifetime of memories together. You’re the reason I saw good in people.’
Ash added: ‘You were a risk-taker, a good cop—the ones you see in the movies. This shouldn’t have been your ending.’
