Ryan Gosling will not be appearing in the forthcoming event film from Academy Award-winning pair Daniel Kwan and Daniel Scheinert.
The Oscar-nominated actor, 45, has withdrawn from the Universal film, which has yet to be titled, industry sources told Deadline on Thursday.
The motion picture from the Oscar-winning directors of 2022’s Everything Everywhere All at Once had been looking at locating the production in Los Angeles in order to obtain a California Tax Credit, sources told the outlet.
The movie had been slated to commence filming this summer, which was an issue, sources told Deadline, as it ‘was unable to move off its targeted date.’
The timing issues potentially cause a scheduling conflict involving Gosling, who has been seen in films such as Barbie, The Fall Guy and The Notebook.
Daily Mail has reached out to representatives for both parties for further comment on the story.

The Daniels remain on schedule with the untitled project, sources told Deadline, which has a tentative release date of November 19, 2027.
The auteurs should have no problem casting Gosling’s replacement considering his enthusiastic endorsement of the script, insiders told the outlet.
Details of the storyline for the movie – which the filmmakers are producing via their Daniels’ Playgrounds company with Jonathan Wang – remain unclear.
Kwan told Collider at SXSW he expects the film to be ‘very existential and a ‘fun sci-fi, action comedy with a big heart.’
He said audiences can anticipate the film to be ‘all those things that you would hope that one of our movies would be.’
Kwan said that the changing times in culture has led to tweaks in the story.
‘One of the reasons why it’s taking so long,’ he said, ‘is because what we’re feeling and what we’re hearing from the world is very complex and really nuanced, and there’s so much paradox.
‘To kind of reconcile all those things and put them into one movie, it takes time.’
The movie ‘will also feature an ensemble made up of younger talent’ around ‘high school ages,’ an insider told The Hollywood Reporter.
