Colin From Accounts stars Harriet Dyer and Patrick Brammall left fans devastated on Wednesday when they revealed the quirky Australian comedy series was coming to an end.
The real-life married couple took to social media to share the upcoming third season would mark the series’ conclusion.
‘Guys we have a little announcement. Firstly, we want to say that series three is coming at you! We really hope you enjoy it,’ the pair began.
‘We also need to add that this is our last season. Understandably, you’re upset.’
They then explained the reason behind ending the show, despite it being both a commercial and critical success.
‘Creatively, it just feels like the right time for these characters and for this world. We don’t want to flog a dead horse, comedy comes in threes,’ they said.

‘We are sorry if you are disappointed. We are going to miss it terribly. We love making TV for you guys and we just want to say bye, we’ll see you around.’
Heartbroken fans immediately took to the comments section to express their sadness.
‘NO please flog the dead horse!’ one person wrote and a second added: ‘Flog it forever.’
‘Dead horse!?! You got Phar Lap on your hands,’ another person wrote.
‘A bit sad but you guys are the creative geniuses so we have to trust you. I’m sure you will find something else for us!’ someone else chipped in.
The final series of Colin From Accounts will be available to stream on Monday, July 27.
Harriet, 38, and Patrick, 50, co-created the Binge comedy-drama, and also play leading roles Ashley and Gordon.
The first season saw their complex characters brought together following a fateful car accident and an injured dog, and it quickly rose to global acclaim.

The second season continued to follow the misadventures of Gordon and Ashley, as they navigate life and love in modern-day Sydney.
The series featured a host of popular Australian talent, including Celeste Barber, Emma Harvie and Tony Llewellyn-Jones.
Colin From Accounts has become a huge hit in over 100 countries since its first season premiered back in 2022.
Harriet and Patrick took home an AACTA award for Best Narrative Comedy Series and two Logies for Most Outstanding Actor and Most Outstanding Actress.
The series also cleaned up at the Venice TV Awards, the European Broadcasting Union’s Rose d’Or awards, and London’s C21 International Awards.
