News Room : Does this photo capture Travis Kelce’s last dose of Dutch courage before marriage: After all the wild lengths Taylor went to hide wedding… one image seems all too human

No one could say for sure that this was Travis Kelce’s ride to the wedding of the century… in which he was the groom of the hour.

But on a weekend when he and Taylor Swift have gone to almost obscene lengths to conceal their plans from the eyes of the world, it certainly looked like a rather human glimpse of Kelce when he thought no one was watching.

Leaving from the service entrance of Manhattan’s swanky Ritz-Carlton hotel, it looks as though Kelce may have taken a page out of Kansas City Chiefs head coach Andy Reid’s playbook, by running a trick play on the one-yard line.

For while other guests were being bussed out the front of the hotel, the man who looked a lot like Kelce chose to leave in the shadows, hidden behind blacked-out SUV windows and taking a well-needed swig from a hip flask before being whisked away.

And if it was indeed him, it wouldn’t be the only cloak-and-dagger tactics employed over the wedding weekend.

The couple’s representatives would not confirm a date or location of the event beforehand, later announcing in a brief statement issued on Friday evening that the couple had married.

The Daily Mail was the first to report in April that wedding planners had sent out nondisclosure agreements (NDAs) along with their save-the-dates to more than 1,000 guests who had to sign before receiving the actual wedding invitation.

For added security, each invitation was individually watermarked using the guests’ first and last names, written repeatedly across the design, making any leaked invite instantly traceable.

Multiple sources told the Daily Mail that Swift and Kelce also kept their loved ones on a ‘need-to-know basis’ to prevent leaks, with the bride and groom’s mothers, Andrea Swift and Donna Kelce, kept in the dark about the wedding prep.

The Daily Mail also exclusively learned that on-site security went a step further by requiring everyone in the wedding reception venue to wear a tracking device.

‘When they give you a wristband, they take your picture and the wristbands could be tracked everywhere in the building,’ the source explained, ‘They can see where you are; must have an RFID [radio-frequency identification] or something,’ they added.

Arriving guests were also given QR codes in order to check in, before their phones were confiscated to prevent photo leaks.

Even the NYPD were not immune to the heightened security measures, with officers assigned to work the celebration told they were not allowed to have their cell phones on the premises.

One guest inadvertently gave a glimpse into the strict instructions as she struggled to get into the event, showing security a message on her phone which appeared to read, for ’emergency communication needs during the event, there will be phones available. Please make sure you have written down any phone numbers you may need.’

Swift also uncharacteristically stayed out of the spotlight over the last week, keeping everyone guessing over her movements even as a cavalcade of cars with tinted windows shuttled in and out of her rented Manhattan brown stone.

The identity of her wedding dress designer remained a mystery until the big day, too.

Oscar de la Renta, Ralph Lauren and Stella McCartney were all touted to have designed the pop icon’s main dress, but true to form, master illusionist Swift, known for dropping countless ‘Easter Eggs’ kept her fans guessing.

Last month, a bodyguard was seen with a Stella McCartney dress in a garment bag outside of her New York apartment, however cynical Swifties doubted the singer would reveal the designer in such a public manner.

In April, an insider told the Daily Mail that Swift’s wedding dress could be inspired by the gown Elizabeth Taylor wore for her 1950 wedding to Conrad Hilton.

Swift has a song titled Elizabeth Taylor on her most recent album, The Life Of A Showgirl.

The bride and groom’s wedding ceremony looks were in fact both created by Christian Dior Haute Couture and designed by Jonathan Anderson, Creative Director of Dior Women’s, Men’s and Haute Couture Collections.

Their shoes were custom made by Christian Louboutin and the bride wore Cartier jewelry.

To keep up with Swift’s mastery, Kelce might have taken inspiration from Reid, who is notorious for devising trick plays on the football field during the biggest moments of the season.

In the Chiefs’ Super Bowl game against the San Francisco 49ers, Kelce became the decoy on the title-winning touchdown drive. He diverted the attention of the last defender, allowing Mecole Hardman to run free and receive the touchdown catch that earned Kelce his third Super Bowl ring.

Swift was in the stands that day in Las Vegas and when they embraced on the field after the win, she told him it was ‘the craziest thing I have ever seen.’ George Kittle, one of Kelce and Swift’s wedding guests at MSG, was on the losing team.

Rumors also spread that Swift would have a coterie of bridesmaids, including Selena Gomez, Gigi Hadid and her childhood friend Abigail but neither Swift nor Kelce had bridesmaids or groomsmen.

Instead, Swift’s brother Austin served as her Man of Honor and Jason Kelce was Kelce’s Best Man. The ceremony was officiated by friend comedian Adam Sandler.

The couple’s Love Story began three years ago this week, when Kelce first laid eyes on the songstress at her Kansas City Eras Tour concert on July 8, 2023.

The Chiefs tight end tried to meet Swift that evening, bringing along a friendship bracelet that contained his phone number. However, his attempt at handing her the jewelry was unsuccessful.

Kelce subsequently shared the story on his New Heights podcast, which attracted Swift’s attention.

The couple’s marriage was finally confirmed on Friday evening

The 14-time Grammy winner has since revealed that she was moved by the gesture, saying it felt like she was ‘in an ’80s John Hughes movie, and he was standing outside of my window with a boombox saying, ‘I want to date you! Do you want to go on a date with me? I made you a friendship bracelet! Do you want to date me?”

She added: ‘I was like, ‘If this guy’s not crazy, which is a big if, but if he’s not crazy, then this is basically every song I’ve ever written since I was a teenager come to life.”

Soon after, Swift and Kelce met in person and started dating, instantly enamored with each other.

They announced their engagement in August 2025.

The Daily Mail has contacted representatives for Kelce for comment and has yet to hear back.
