The new AFL season has begun amid wild claims involving a senior figure at one of the competition’s biggest clubs.

According to the Herald Sun, the high-ranking official has allegedly been cheating with a staff member. 

The claims suggest the relationship was ongoing and not a one-off incident.

Rumours have since escalated, with speculation that the alleged affair has resulted in a pregnancy.

There has also been talk of a non-disclosure agreement being signed, with some believing it was put in place to facilitate a quiet exit from the club.

In separate but equally explosive gossip, a prominent footy couple is said to be dealing with turmoil in their own relationship.

The pair have allegedly been involved in a consensual swinging arrangement, with sources claiming the situation deteriorated after one party logged ‘extra hours outside of their arrangement.’ 

The alleged breach of trust has reportedly caused a significant fallout. 

The AFL has recently been plagued by off-field scandal, with the breakdown of Lachie and Jules Neale’s marriage dominating headlines since late last year. 

The breakup followed allegations Neale had an affair with Tess Crosley, who was a close friend of Jules and part of the couple’s inner circle.

Lachie Neale publicly announced the separation during a Brisbane Lions media appearance when he stepped down from his leadership role.

He told media that he and Jules had separated and apologised for letting his family down, without addressing specific allegations.

‘While I will not go into specifics, I can say that I have let my family down and I apologise for my actions, which have hurt those closest to me. And for that, I am deeply sorry,’ he said.

‘I accept this as a consequence of my actions and I need to focus on rebuilding the trust with Jules as the future well-being of our children remains our number one priority.

Lachie fronted the press at Brighton Homes Arena on January 2, telling reporters he had ‘let [his] family down’ while refusing to confirm or deny cheating on his wife with her best friend

‘I understand as a public figure that there is interest in my personal life. However, I do ask [that] the privacy of Jules and my children be respected as we work through our new situation and the next chapter of our lives.’

The conference escalated when a reporter asked: ‘Did you cheat on your wife?’

‘I cannot address those rumours,’ the star midfielder shot back.

In the days prior, Jules effectively confirmed the split herself by posting on social media stating she had been betrayed and making it clear the relationship was not being worked through.

Her post removed any doubt about reconciliation and signalled the marriage was over before Neale’s formal public statement.

Jules is now back in Perth with the couple’s two children while Lachie has moved out of the family home and into a Brisbane apartment.
