Rachel Zegler has fueled rumors she has split from her Evita back-up dancer Nathan Louis-Fernand with a cryptic post declaring her independence.
The star, 24, has been linked to Fernand since this past summer but a telling message she uploaded to Instagram suggests there has been trouble in paradise.
The West Side Stories actress uploaded a carousel kicking off 2026, but it was two photos in particular which raised eyebrows about her relationship status.
She included a screenshot of a Google search of the phrase ‘How to fumble a baddie’ as well as a peculiar drawing by artist Ben Lenovitz.
The image was of a woman smoking a cigarette during a dog walk with the message, ‘I’ll never get a boyfriend.’
The Daily Mail has reached out to representatives for Zegler for comment but did not immediately hear back.

The other photos in the post showed Zegler posing in a backless green dress and hanging out with her dog.
She captioned the post ‘hello twenty-twenty-six.’
Tellingly, a selfie she posted with Louis-Fernand making their romance Instagram official appears to have been removed from her account as well.
The photo was one of many she included in a carousel back in July, and while the original post remains, the cute selfie they took together is no longer in the post.
She also is not following Louis-Fernand on Instagram, however he follows her.
Zegler and Louis-Fernand have been putting on lovey-dovey displays in public since becoming linked in July.
The couple are believed to have met during Evita rehearsals, which began in April for Jamie Lloyd’s adaptation of the Tim Rice and Andrew Lloyd Webber musical.
Louis-Fernand last worked as a stripper on the Magic Mike Live show – a performance created by Channing Tatum based on the films he starred in by the same name.
The 90-minute experience sees a cast of male dancers performing provocative routines, acrobatic acts and musical hits which ‘celebrates female desires’.

The dancer is very close with his parents and older brother, preferring yoga sessions over late night partying and drinking, he bonded with Zegler over their shared love for musical theatre.
The new couple spent weekends away with one another with the rest of the Evita cast as Zegler, who plays the lead role Eva Peron, has grown very close to them.
In July, the Disney star also shared a slew of pictures to her Instagram of a trip away to the countryside and she referred to Fernand as ‘the darling man’.
The Snow White star has been staying in London while she stars as Eva Peron in Jamie Lloyd’s reimagined adaptation of the Andrew Lloyd Webber and Tim Rice musical.
Her new romance comes eight months after rumours swirled she had split from her boyfriend of three years, Josh Andrés Rivera – though the pair never confirmed they had broken up.
