Anna Faris found herself facing acute fan concerns online after she hit the red carpet Wednesday for her latest movie Scary Movie 6.
The 49-year-old actress made a rare public appearance with her son Jack Pratt, 13, whom she co-parents with her ex-husband Chris Pratt.
She clung proudly to Jack at the premiere of her new film, the latest instalment in a franchise she has been part of since its original outing in 2000.
However when a video went viral of her appearing slightly jittery at the event and seemingly licking the inside of her mouth, alarm bells rang on social media.
‘Love her, but really worried about her health here. I hope she’s ok,’ fretted one observer on X, formerly known as Twitter.
‘I really like Anna Faris,’ another said. ‘This doesn’t look like her normal self at all. (I’ve watched her in interviews in the past and I’ve watched her show Mom several times) Her eyes are dead and can’t focus. Her mouth is really weird. I really hope she is ok.’

‘I’m so sorry, I’m not trying to be unkind but I hope that Anna is doing well. She seems not all there,’ wrote another worried viewer.
Many commentators were sympathetic to Faris, such as one who opined: ‘She looks like she’s been struggling since her and Chris split.’
Others adopted a less charitable tone, with one writing: ‘I used to think she was very cute. Not anymore. What has she done to herself?’
‘What happened to Anna? She looking like Kelly Osborne,’ sniped another as still another sniggered: ‘I can never tell if she’s in character or not.’
The Friends actress had a chorus of defenders as well, one of whom joked: ‘Refreshing to see an actor/actress’ son not wearing a dress.’
‘She looks fine,’ another snapped. ‘She’s aged. She’s not acting like a junkie. She was trying to make sure her teeth don’t have lipstick on them. You need to leave this woman alone and redirect your energy to that awful man she was married to.’
Faris and Pratt eloped to Bali in 2009 and welcomed their son in 2012 before separating in 2017 and finalizing their divorce the following year.
Pratt has since married Arnold Schwarzenegger’s daughter Katherine, with whom he has three further children – Lyla, five, Eloise, four, and Ford, one.
Meanwhile Faris found love again in the form of Ted cinematographer Michael Barrett, with whom she held a courthouse wedding in 2021.

Pratt’s parenting of Jack came under fierce scrutiny in 2021, when he faced a deluge of blowback over an Instagram post praising Katherine.
‘She’s given me an amazing life, a gorgeous healthy daughter, she chews so loudly that sometimes I put in my ear buds to drown it out, but that’s love!’ he wrote.
An army of online scolds interpreted the ‘healthy daughter’ line as a dig at Jack, who suffered a spate of medical problems after his premature birth.
Shortly after the furor, Pratt candidly discussed the toll that the ‘f***ed up’ backlash had taken on him, in an interview with Men’s Health.
‘My son’s gonna read that one day. He’s nine,’ said Pratt. ‘And it’s etched in digital stone. It really f***ing bothered me, dude.’
The Jurassic World star confessed: ‘I cried about it. I was like, I hate that these blessings in my life are – to the people close to me – a real burden.’
