Kylie Gillies recently received the shock of her life after she had a terrifying encounter with a live animal during Channel Seven’s record-breaking Good Friday Appeal.
The Morning Show veteran presenter, 58, was appearing on the annual fundraiser for The Royal Children’s Hospital when she was given a bizarre task – to retrieve a donation cheque from a mystery box containing a small animal.
A shocked Kylie was seen approaching the box with trepidation, as she was told she had to insert her hand into the mystery box to retrieve the cheque.
‘So, I put my hand in… It could be anything?’ a worried Kylie asked, as she was then reassured by Dr Chris Brown that she had to keep her hand ‘very still’ because the animal will ‘pick up on tremors’.
‘I have seen this done before and it didn’t go well,’ Dr Chris gravely told Kylie.
The beloved presenter was then seen putting her hand into the box, which contained three small frogs in addition to a $10,000 cheque from Boost Juice.

At one point, Kylie’s hand was seen brushing the top of a frog, as she yelped out in terror: ‘What is it? It’s slimy!’
In a shock moment, Kylie was seen grabbing the cheque as a frog jumped towards her and appeared to briefly nip her.
A terrified Kylie yelped out, ‘It bit me!’ as she was then shown that the animal was just a small tree frog, whose bite is completely harmless to humans.
‘It’s too much!’ a frustrated Kylie said, as Dr. Chris quipped: ‘Can we get the medic please?’
Fortunately, Kylie was in good spirits later on and thrilled to have retrieved the large donation for the children’s hospital.
It comes after another veteran Australian presenter also had a scary encounter with an animal on live TV on Friday.
A Today show presenter was left shocked during a live cross descended into chaos after a giant crab turned on her.
Reporter Taylor Haynes was taking viewers on a tour of the Sydney Fish Market in Glebe when she stopped at a tank filled with live crustaceans.

To her delight, a worker named Mike emerged with a giant crab and placed it in her arms, prompting her to bend down and place a kiss on its head.
Unfortunately, things quickly went pear-shaped when the crab retaliated by grabbing her finger with its huge pincer.
Taylor recoiled in pain, almost dropping the crab in the process.
‘Ahh! It’s got my finger! He’s got my finger… oh god!’ she screamed, sending Today’s hosts into hysterics.
Taylor was still struggling to remove her finger from the crab’s grasp when the segment awkwardly ended.
Co-host Alison Piotrowski later revealed Taylor was recovering, after the unfortunate encounter.
