Tan France of Queer Eye fame debuted a surprising new look on Wednesday as he showed off his hair transformation.
The reality TV star, 43, looked nearly unrecognizable as he took to Instagram to share a reel of himself sporting a new hairdo. He rocked freshly dyed black hair that was combed neatly to the side.
Alongside the clip, he wrote in his caption that his new look was ‘NOT mid-life crisis hair!’
In the clip, he explained how he changed his signature silver hair for an upcoming role and reassured fans that he would be going back to his natural color after wrapping up the project.
‘Don’t freak out,’ he began by saying in the clip. ‘I know my hair’s dark. It’s fine.’
He continued: ‘Well, no, it’s not. I know it’s very weird to see me with dark hair. It’s weird to see myself with dark hair.’

‘I wasn’t going to share this at all, but I’ve been out twice in the last couple days, and people are very confused,’ France added. ‘So I just need to make it clear, this is not a midlife crisis.’
He further added that he is not fond of the dyed look and prefers his natural hair.
‘I hate dark hair on me,’ he said in the Instagram reel.
‘I love my silver hair. I love my grays,’ he continued. ‘I’m not ashamed of them whatsoever. I’m really proud of my grays.’
At the end of the clip, he concluded by saying: ‘I’m gonna go right back, hopefully, to my natural color in the next month or two. Don’t freak out.’
France is currently filming the holiday comedy, Clashing Through the Snow, with Christopher Briney and Julia Fox.
A flurry of fans and fellow celebrities took to the comments section to opine about his look.
‘Hahahahaha Tannyyyy this is u in a parallel universe,’ supermodel Gigi Hadid wrote alongside four laughing emojis.

The father-of-two, who shares sons Ismail and Isaac with husband Rob France, has been taking on minor acting roles since starring on Queer Eye. Up next, he is filming a holiday comedy alongside Julia Fox, per IMDb
His upcoming film is inspired by Planes, Trains and Automobiles, which follows two coworkers as they go on a cross-country road trip.
Since France starred on Queer Eye, which many have claimed was a tense environment, he has gone on to do a number of acting and voiceover roles, including in an episode of the series Deli Boys.
In addition to his work, he has also been focused on his family. France and his husband Rob France are parents to two children.
They welcomed their first son Ismail via surrogate in July 2021.
Two years later, they expanded their family and welcomed their second son Isaac in May 2023.
The couple are currently raising their two young children in Salt Lake City, Utah.
