Joey Lawrence and his wife Samantha Cope are celebrating the arrival of their second child, a boy, who was born on Monday.

The happy news comes more than two years after the couple shelved their divorce and reconciled in the wake of accusations that Lawrence had an affair with Melina Alves, his co-star in the holiday film Socked in for Christmas, later re-titled The Great Christmas Snow-In.

The Melissa & Joey star and the actress jointly shared a carousel of sweet photos of their new baby boy on Instagram, including two snaps of the pair cradling the newborn and a close-up picture of their swaddled son sleeping.

Also in the mix was a black-and-white shot of what looked like the aftermath of a water birth, the new parents kissing while the baby nestled against his mother.

Lawrence also shared a clip of what appeared to be a midwife weighing the newborn in a weigh sling.

‘Ford Joseph Lawrence. Our newest member has arrived,’ Lawrence and Cope’s caption read. ‘What an absolute blessing you are baby boy! It will be an Easter Weekend to remember forever. 4.6.26. God is so good!’

Lawrence and Cope, who are parents to daughter Dylan, two, revealed they were expecting baby number two in November 2025 and added the pregnancy was not planned but very much welcomed.

The former child star also has daughters Liberty, 15, and Charleston, 19, with ex-wife Chandie Yawn-Nelson.

A little over two years ago, Lawrence and Cope’s marriage was in a dark place.

Cope filed for divorce from the former Blossom star in August 2024, citing irreconcilable differences and requesting that both she and her estranged husband not receive any spousal support.

She also asked for full custody of their daughter, stating in documents obtained by Us Weekly that would allow Dylan to stay with her father two nights a week when she turned three.

In regards to extended visits with Lawrence, Cope made it clear that she wanted to wait until Dylan is ‘older and can consent to such visits.’

A difficult situation was made worse when Lawrence was accused of having an affair with co-star Alves not long after Cope filed for divorce.

In August 2024, the actor denied the allegations and insisted he ‘did not have a physical relationship’ with Alves while filming their movie, then known as Socked in for Christmas.

‘Ford Joseph Lawrence. Our newest member has arrived,’ Lawrence and Cope’s both wrote in the caption of their photo carousel

Lawrence and Cope revealed they were expecting baby number two in November 2025 (pictured), less than a year after they shelved their divorce and reconciled following accusations the Blossom alum had an affair with movie co-star Melina Alves

‘These rumors are false,’ Lawrence wrote on Instagram. ‘Our bond was based on shared experiences and an understanding of the challenges we were both facing in our personal lives.’

Lawrence also shared how he was still ‘clinging to hope’ that he could save his ‘deeply troubled marriage’ to Cope, even though he felt it was ‘beyond saving.

‘My short-lived marriage was fraught with difficulties from the beginning. Our differences became insurmountable,’ he explained. ‘As a father, my three daughters are my world. They are, and always will be, my top priority. The unraveling of my marriage was tied to my realization that there is no way my two eldest daughters were ever going to be accepted by my wife to be part of my family.’

He concluded his post by writing that he ‘cannot and will not compromise on the love and care that my daughters deserve’ and understood his life in the public eye comes with a ‘level of scrutiny that can be difficult to bear.’

In a statement of her own, Cope said she found his ‘accusations deeply troubling’ and was focused on caring for her little girl and ‘processing the loss’ of her marriage.

In documents obtained by TMZ, Alves’ estranged husband, Edward Rider – who filed for divorce in July – claimed that he discovered Alves and Lawrence were having an affair in March 2024.

Rider claimed th affair allegedly took place in California as well as ‘at various other times and places.’

At the time, a source told People that Lawrence ‘love-bombed’ Alves – which was something that he also did with Cope.

Lawrence shared the screen with Alves, far right, in the holiday-themed flick Socked in for Christmas, later retitled The Great Christmas Snow-in, but denied the cheating accusations

A source previously told People that Lawrence ‘love-bombed’ Alves (pictured) on the set of their film – which was something he also did with Cope when they met on the set of their Lifetime movie My Husband’s Secret Brother

Cope and Lawrence first met in 2020 while on set of the Lifetime movie, My Husband’s Secret Brother. They became engaged in 2021, and wed the following year in 2022.

In July 2025, the actor revealed more about the couple’s decision to repair their marriage.

‘I think it’s too easy,’ Lawrence said of divorce. ‘As much you don’t want to take an easy way out, or you think this will be the fix – it’s not always the case. I just didn’t want to do that. And she didn’t either.’

Ultimately, he said they both realized they had ‘something so special here.’
