Scott McCristal has certainly suffered some emotional knocks during his time on Married At First Sight.

But it was nothing compared to what the beleaguered groom went through while trying to promote his business.

A resurfaced clip, uploaded to Instagram by Scott in December, showed him promoting his asset and personal lending brokerage A Lend Finance.

Proving that he is not afraid to suffer for his art, the clip showed Scott getting run over by a black SUV.

After connecting with the reality star, the vehicle stopped and slowly backed up, leaving Scott writhing on the ground.

He bounced back quickly, jumping up with nary a scratch to continue his sales pitch.

The obviously AI-generated video was met with a flurry of comments from fans and followers, with many taking the clip at face value.

‘I hope you’re okay,’ one sympathetic person wrote, while another chimed in with a similar: ‘We gonna act like he didn’t just get hit?’

Others were quick to point out the digitally rendered nature of the video.

‘Do people not understand this is A.I.?’ one person commented.

Some had more nefarious explanations, however, with one MAFS fan suggesting one of his reality show ‘enemies’ might have been behind the hit and run.

‘100% Bec was driving,’ they joked.

Another suggested that Scott’s erstwhile bride Gia Fleur had a stronger motive.

‘Gia came through like a wrecking ball,’ they commented.

It comes after Scott was left devastated on Tuesday’s episode when his controversial bride Gia Fleur fled the experiment.

Scott and Gia were filmed arguing in the street over Gia’s shock decision to head home.

Scott responded with an expletive-filled tirade of Gia as he watched a video of his bride flirting with her ‘alternate’ match, James, from Monday night’s ‘Grass is Greener’ challenge.

‘That is f***ing putrid, that is f***ed, that is disgusting,’ he said after watching Gia ask James about how much money he made.

‘That is actually embarrassing,’ an angry Scott said and added, ‘[She said] she would date him on the outside.’

The dramatic moment led to Scott suffering an emotional meltdown.

‘She literally just lied to my face,’ a tearful Scott said in his confessional.

He continued, ‘Why did she want to leave so bad? She wanted to leave because she didn’t want me to see what she did on the final test.’

Scott then revealed he was about to pay for a new house for Gia and her family, as well as financing her relocation.

‘I was about to give my whole life to her and her daughter,’ he said, breaking down.

‘I’m done… she is a complete manipulator, hypocrite. She just f***ed me over, and I paid for everything in this experiment.

‘I just got f***ed for three months, she just used me. She used my money and my life – she just broke my heart completely.’
