Meg Ryan and Billy Crystal will reportedly reunite at the 98th Academy Awards – airing March 15 on ABC/Hulu – to honor their late When Harry Met Sally director Rob Reiner.

The 64-year-old rom-com queen and the 77-year-old legendary comedian will deliver remarks about the beloved filmmaker during the In Memoriam segment, which will include other stars of his past films – according to Variety.

Ryan and Crystal famously portrayed friends-turned-lovers Sally Albright and Harry Burns in Reiner’s beloved 1989 film penned by Nora Ephron, which earned rave reviews and $92.8 million at the global box office.

The Oscar-nominated producer had previously given the SNL veteran small parts in his 1984 mockumentary This Is Spinal Tap and his 1987 fairytale The Princess Bride.

The longtime friends also acted together in one episode of CBS sitcom All in the Family in 1976, Danny DeVito’s 1987 comedy Throw Momma from the Train and Crystal’s 1987 stand-up special Don’t Get Me Started.

Crystal was pictured wiping away tears while outside Reiner’s $13.5 million Brentwood mansion on December 14 – hours after he and his second wife Michelle Reiner were stabbed to death in their bed at age 78 and 70.

Ryan – who also acted with Reiner in Nora Ephron’s 1993 rom-com Sleepless in Seattle – posted an Instagram tribute three days after the married couple of 36 years’ tragic passing.

‘Oh how we will miss this man… Thank you, Rob and Michelle, for the way you believe in true love, in fairy tales, and in laughter,’ the Connecticut-born blonde wrote.

‘Thank you for your faith in the best in people, and for your profound love of our country. I have to believe that their story will not end with this impossible tragedy, that some good may come, some awareness raised…

‘I don’t know, but my guess is that they would want that to be hopeful and humane, to be something that brings us all to a greater understanding of one another and to some peace.’

The Reiners are survived by their 27-year-old daughter Romy Reiner and 34-year-old son Jake Reiner, but their 32-year-old son Nick Reiner was arrested for their homicide.

Nick is awaiting his next court date on April 29 at LA’s Twin Towers Correctional Facility, and he pleaded not guilty to two counts of first-degree murder.

The Reiners had previously spent years trying to get help for their troubled son’s mental illness and substance abuse, which led to a reported 17-18 rehab stints, and he was living at their home at the time.

Speaking of the Oscars’ In Memoriam segment, Variety is also reporting that Barbra Streisand is ‘in talks’ to sing for her late The Way We Were leading man Robert Redford who passed away, at age 89, in his sleep on September 16.

Previously announced presenters include Adrien Brody, Kieran Culkin, Mikey Madison, Zoe Saldaña, Javier Bardem, Chris Evans, Chase Infiniti, Demi Moore, Kumail Nanjiani and Maya Rudolph.

Crystal’s last gig was taking on the serious role of newly widowed child psychiatrist Eli in Apple TV+ 10-episode psychological thriller Before, which was poorly received in 2024.
