It appears that there is no love lost between Richard Reid and Today host Karl Stefanovic.
Richard, 54, who was the Nine breakfast show’s Hollywood correspondent from 2006 until 2015, revealed his disdain for the TV host during the latest episode of the A Bit Rogue podcast.
The gossip guru told host Skye Sydenham that his working relationship with Karl was not the best, particularly in his final year.
‘I have nothing but… I was going to say fond memories of Today, and that was just going to be a lie coming out of my mouth,’ Richard said.
While he did admit that there were good times working at Channel Nine, Richard said he was disappointed that his contract was not renewed in 2015.
‘It was up and down,’ he said.

Appearing on the latest episode of the A Bit Rogue podcast, the former Today gossip guru told host Skye Sydenham that his working relationship with Karl was not the best, particularly in his final year
‘It was a lot of good times and I’m so grateful to Nine. They put me on a number of shows, but no one likes getting kicked to the curb.’
Richard claimed that his last year with the network was a miserable experience which he partly blamed on Karl.
‘The last year of that show I hated it. I hated working with, not Richard Wilkins, I hated working with Karl,’ he said.
‘Everyone was unhappy, everyone was miserable, everyone hated each other.’
Richard added that he believed that the dislike did not necessarily go both ways, however, he claimed that Karl was unaware of how his behaviour affected others.
‘On his side of the street, I’m sure it’s all fine because he had all the power – I did not have the power,’ he said.
Denying that he had a ‘vendetta’ against the Nine star, Richard still took the chance to take a not-so-subtle dig at his former colleague.
When Skye asked for his assessment of Karl’s new podcast, Richard replied: ‘I would never listen to the show because I can’t stand his voice.’

Following his departure from Nine, Richard jumped ship to Channel Ten and, in 2019, was crowned the winner of I’m A Celebrity… Get Me Out Of Here!

He has also appeared on Studio 10 and carved out a career as an in-demand media personality and event host.
Richard previously made headlines when he revealed that his least favourite A-list encounter was with embattled talk show host Ellen DeGeneres.
‘Everyone knows that I found Ellen was no picnic,’ Richard told the Daily Telegraph in 2021.
‘So when all the reports came out this year about her [alleged bullying of staff], I did have a little moment of “I told you so,”‘ he added.
Writing about his interactions with Ellen in a News Corp column, also in 2021, he described the former daytime chat show icon as ‘fake.’
‘My interactions with Ellen lasted no more than five or six minutes in total, but it was enough for me to see the true colours behind her fake persona of sweetness and still send shivers down my spine more than two decades on,’ he said.
He added: ‘On his side of the street, I’m sure it’s all fine because he had all the power I did not have the power. People in positions of power don’t realise how abusive they can be with their power’
