Gosling, 45, has a long resume and he’s appeared on the big screen with leading ladies like Margot Robbie, Emma Stone and Emily Blunt.
But Mendes, 51, admitted it’s an animated alien in his latest film Project Hail Mary who has made her envious.
In the Amazon MGM Studios sci-fi flick, in theaters March 20, ‘Dr. Grace (Gosling) and an alien named Rocky must communicate to save their planets from extinction, despite the mission’s infinite possibilities for error,’ per the official synopsis.
On Monday Mendes playfully commented on a JustJared Instagram post promoting the movie.
She joked, ‘His only costar I’ve ever been jealous of…Rocky. They spent wayyy too much time together. They even got each others rings. WTF!!? ♥️♥️♥️♥️.’

The couple are parents to daughters Esmeralda, 11, and Amada, nine.
Gosling is never shy about expressing his love for Mendes when given the chance.
In 2023 the actor revealed he hadn’t planned on having a family until he met her.
‘I wasn’t thinking about kids before I met her, but after I met Eva, I realized that I just didn’t want to have kids without her,’ he told GQ at the time.
The twosome fell in love in 2011 while filming the thriller The Place Beyond the Pines.
In the magazine interview he discussed parenting with Mendes, and sweetly gushed that before meeting her, ‘I was looking for her, you know?’ adding that ‘it all makes sense now.’
In 2020 Mendes wrote on Instagram, ‘I have always had a clear boundary when it comes to my man and my kids. I’ll talk about them of course, with limits, but I won’t post pictures of our daily life.’
While promoting his movie The Fall Guy in May 2024, Gosling told Extra about Mendes: ‘She is with the girls, and when she works, I stay home with the girls too.’
He added, ‘She’s also like my acting coach. She has really become the best acting coach I have ever had. It’s endless how she helps me.’

Last year the family of four moved overseas while the Notebook star was filming the upcoming Star Wars: Starfighter.

According to insiders, the family has been living in an exclusive enclave popular with A-listers, with neighbors said to include the likes of Harry Styles, Jude Law and Emma Thompson.
