A popular US influencer has given a rather unflattering assessment of Australia.
Blair Walnuts, 30, has been enjoying an extended holiday Down Under for the past couple of weeks, but it seems the reality did not live up to her expectations.
The lifestyle content creator, who boasts 1.3 million subscribers on YouTube, took to Instagram on Monday to share her thoughts about her holiday destination.
Sharing an image of her rather swanky accommodation at the Mantra Crown Towers in Surfers Paradise, Blair said that while she was making every effort to love Australia, it was a difficult task.
‘I’m trying to fall in love with Australia. Unfortunately it’s a slow burn like a guy who’s been grovelling in your DMs for five years and doesn’t get the hint,’ she wrote.
Blair then listed a few of her Antipodean bugbears including usual suspects, the weather and the vast array of dangerous creatures.

‘The time zone is still confusing me, all the animals are certified opps (I swear the same fly has been stalking me since Perth) and the weather is not doing me any favours,’ she complained.
She also took particular umbrage with what she claimed was a lackadaisical approach to parcel delivery in Australia.
‘Also, I ordered from some clothing brands with one-day shipping and it’s been two weeks lol,’ she added.
After her scathing assessment of her holiday destination, Blair then had some unfriendly words of advice for followers.
‘First world problems, but like, if you’re going to fly all the way here, maybe also visit somewhere else,’ she wrote.
‘Lmaooo. I just want a sunny day, calm water and white sand,’ Blair added, clearly forgetting her earlier protestations about Australia’s parcel delivery infrastructure.
Known for her comedic lifestyle vlogs, Blair boasts an impressive social media audience.
Apart from her one million YouTube subscribers, she also has 668,000 followers on Instagram and a further 1.5 million on TikTok.

Blair originally rose to fame thanks to her ‘what I eat in a day’ videos, and she also hosts the podcast The Distrust Fund with Mia Maples.
She is also the founder of haircare brand Love Orie.
Back in 2023, Blair revealed how much she had spent on her appearance over the years.
In a post to TikTok at the time, Blair admitted to spending US $10,000 on plastic surgery – including breast augmentation, which cost her $6000 in 2013.
She also admitted to spending $3,500 on a rhinoplasty and septoplasty, and $2,500 on Botox treatments and lip filler.
Blair also revealed that she spends around $2,000 per month maintaining her hair, including bleach and extensions.
‘I hate that we have grown up with celebrities, pretending that their enhancements, and their very graceful ageing are all attributed to their lucky genetics,’ she wrote at the time.
