Hugh Jackman looked unrecognizable wearing a long grey wig and sporting a bushy beard in the official trailer for A24’s The Death of Robin Hood, which dropped Tuesday.

‘Would you like to know a secret?’ the 57-year-old triple threat’s character asked a woman by bonfire.

‘People speak of Robin Hood. Tell his stories. They’re all lies. He was not a hero. He were a murderous brigand. I am the outlaw, Robin Hood.’

The limping ‘murderous outlaw’ continued: ‘I’ve killed so many. I could not give you a count. It’s a curse.’

Jackman – who’s only an Oscar away from EGOT status – managed to fit in a shirtless scene by a lake on the Northern Ireland set in order to showcase his famously muscular 6ft2in form.

Michael Sarnoski (A Quiet Place: Day One and Pig) directed the Medieval drama, in which Robin Hood is rescued by a mystery woman (Jodie Comer) who cares for a group of orphans that have had ‘terrible things’ done to them.

Robin Hood offered to make one damaged little girl a bow for protection, which had fans comparing the plot to his 2017 Wolverine flick Logan.

‘There are bad people out there. I fear our blood debts will follow her,’ the battleworn loner said. ‘I’ll keep you safe. I will keep you safe.’

Bill Skarsgård, Murray Bartlett and Noah Jupe also star in The Death of Robin Hood, which is ‘coming soon.’

‘What I love so much about Mike’s vision of Robin Hood is that the script delivered power, and it examines how power can be used for good or bad,’ Jackman – who also produced – told EW last month.

‘Robin Hood is a real man in our story. With all the scars, the pain, the regret, and yes, the love. Mike’s story has weight to it. For me, it’s beautiful and human.’

The Australian actor shared a behind-the-scenes, timelapse video of make-up artist Pamela S. Westmore and hairstylist Sean Flanigan shaving off his real mustache after wrapping the film on March 25.

‘There is a depth, a camaraderie and a spirit to the entire cast and crew of The Death of Robin Hood,’ Jackman – who boasts 79.8 million social media followers – wrote on Instagram.

‘Thank you for this wonderful experience. It is an honor and a privilege. Thank you Ireland! Your beauty knows no bounds.’

The Song Sung Blue star is next set to portray the ill-fated shepherd George Hardy in Kyle Balda’s who-done-it comedy The Sheep Detectives – hitting US/UK theaters May 8 – alongside Emma Thompson, Julia Louis-Dreyfus, Bryan Cranston and Regina Hall.
