News Room : EDEN CONFIDENTIAL: Pearl Lowe – Three of my four children have ADHD

Pearl Lowe was a rock singer and key member of the hedonistic Primrose Hill set in north London in the 1990s when her life spun out of control, fuelled by cocaine and heroin.

She later fled the chaos for the calm and tranquillity of rural Somerset – but her fragile peace was shattered three years ago by a bombshell ADHD diagnosis.

Now the interior designer, 55, known as the Queen of Vintage, has revealed that three out of her four children have also been diagnosed with ADHD, a disorder marked by inattention, hyperactivity and impulsivity.

They are Alfie, 29, Frankie, 26, and Betty, 20, her children with Supergrass drummer husband Danny Goffey. The model Daisy Lowe, 36, her daughter with rock star Gavin Rossdale, does not have the condition.

‘My kids all have ADHD except Daisy,’ Pearl tells me. ‘They’re all healers and bring lots of strays home that need help.’

Promoting her interiors book Faded Glamour in the City, she says: ‘Betty is the one most like me. She’s really quite strong, but has gone on the meds. She loves them, and it helps her and she’s gone to university. The others are not treated, but they’re aware of it.’

Pearl, once bosom buddies with Kate Moss, adds: ‘We’re a neurodiverse family, we’re all creatives and it’s hard having a crazy path. Frankie got diagnosed really young but says he’s grown out of it.

‘He doesn’t realise, you don’t grow out of it. Alfie says he ‘definitely has ADHD’ but hasn’t been diagnosed. It’s just Betty and I who are the bad ones, the mental ones.’

Pearl believes that there is a strong link between ADHD and addiction, claiming: ‘Eighty per cent of ADHD sufferers are addicts.’

Nepo life certainly isn’t tough for model Anais

Some might say it’s a hard life being a nepo baby!

Scarcely a month after enjoying a holiday in Brazil, where Oasis performed the final shows of their world tour, Noel Gallagher’s daughter Anais is back in the sunshine.

The photographer and model, 25, whose mother is Noel’s first wife Meg Mathews, is refusing to put up with cold, dark wintry nights in the UK.

Instead, she’s enjoying a holiday in The Maldives with her boyfriend, Welsh actor Callum Howells, 26, and her half-brother, Donovan, 18, son of Noel and his second wife, the publicist Sara MacDonald.

Anais turned fans green with envy as she shared photos online from the getaway, including one of her in a stylish red bikini. ‘Maldives with my favourite ever people,’ she captioned the post.

Weinstein’s dirty trick

Rose McGowan, who spearheaded the #MeToo movement, claims Hollywood mogul Harvey Weinstein hired an actor to pretend to be a lawyer after she first revealed that he sexually assaulted her.

The pretend ‘criminal attorney’ told her ‘she could never win’ a legal battle against the convicted film producer.

Years later, Rose’s assistant told her: ‘This woman wants to apologise, she was hired to portray the criminal attorney.’

Aga Khan to meet Charles

He is blessed with an estimated £10 billion fortune, properties around the world, and was educated in the US, but never underestimate the Aga Khan’s ties to Britain.

Next month, I’m told, Prince Rahim Aga Khan V, who succeeded his father last year, will meet King Charles in London. ‘It’s to thank Charles for giving him the title ‘His Highness’,’ explains an admirer.

The Aga, 54, spiritual leader of 12 million Ismaili Muslims, is three-quarters British by blood.

His mother, Princess Salimah, was formerly Sally Croker Poole, while his father was the son of Joan Yarde-Buller, eldest of the 3rd Lord Churston’s children.

Snowed in presenter bunks down in studio

Weather presenter Linda Ludlow stayed the night in the BBC Plymouth studios when she couldn’t get home to Devon because of a snow storm

As a BBC weather presenter, Linda Ludlow knows how unforgiving the elements can be.

So, when she forecast snow at her home in Devon, there was only one option: bed down in the studios instead.

‘I slept here,’ she confirms from BBC Plymouth. ‘I had a sleeping bag. It wasn’t worth trying to get here this morning and falling over and injuring myself. People couldn’t get out, there were abandoned cars, some had crashed.’

She adds her children were jealous, imagining it would be akin to a Hollywood film: ‘My kids thought it was amazing – like the film Night at the Museum. It wasn’t that exciting.’

No fewer than five of his cookbooks boast the word ‘escape’ in their titles, yet troubled TV chef Gino D’Acampo appears trapped in the house he and his wife Jessica lavishly restored.

I can disclose the usually irrepressible Gino, 49, has just trimmed a very tasty £300,000 from its asking price.

After putting it on the market last summer for £2.45 million, Gino, who denies allegations of sexually inappropriate behaviour towards female colleagues, has cut it to £2.15million.

Quite a snip.

Winslet: Complex life helped son’s film script

Having directed her son Joe Anders’s screenwriting debut Goodbye June, Kate Winslet says his writing benefited from her eventful private life.

Joe, 22, is her son with director Sir Sam Mendes, the second of her three husbands.

Winslet remarks: ‘Some of the most complicated relationships we have are with people we love most… my son’s script didn’t shy from that.’

The mother-of-three adds: ‘My children have different fathers… [Joe’s known] eccentric, complicated characters who he has grown up around.’
