Bringing Up Bates alum Lawson Bates shared public support for his younger sister Katie Clark on Sunday after the devastation of her miscarriage immediately followed by her husband Travis Clark’s announcement he had cheated on her.
‘Katie, I still can’t believe you dropped everything at a moment’s notice to come be with us and help document this huge life moment,’ the 33-year-old You Go With Me singer wrote on Facebook.
‘It meant the world. You’re one of the kindest and most genuine people I know. We love you and are always here for you.’
Lawson and his wife Tiffany Espensen welcomed their second child – son Theodore Lawson Bates – on December 9 at Ascension Saint Thomas Hospital Midtown in Nashville, TN but they didn’t announce his birth until last Friday.
At the time, the grieving 25-year-old was still blissfully pregnant with her third child, but she revealed Friday she lost the baby in an emotional Instagram video captioned: ‘I will spend the rest of my life missing you.’

The very next day, Katie’s philandering husband issued a public apology via Instastory to her for ‘having an affair and repeatedly breaking her trust.’
‘I was unfaithful to my wife,’ the 24-year-old nursing student announced.
‘There is no excuse for what I did. This was my failure and my responsibility alone. I know that words don’t begin to express the damage I caused or the depth of the hurt I’ve brought into her life, but I am truly sorry. I’m sorry for the pain, humiliation and betrayal I caused my wife through my choices.’
Travis admitted apologies can’t repair what he broke and ‘forgiveness is not something I deserve or can ask for.’
‘I am taking responsibility by getting help and doing the work to change and become a more honest and accountable man, regardless of the outcome,’ the musician added.
‘I ask for privacy and grace for Katie as she processes this in her own time.’
Katie and Travis – who rang in their fourth wedding anniversary on December 3 – will celebrate the third birthday of their daughter Hailey on February 17, and they’re also parents of 16-month-old son Harvey.

On Saturday, Lawson shared an Instagram reel from the gym that many thought was a dig at Travis, captioned: ‘One day, someone might tell your kids, “You’re just like your dad.” Make sure it’s a compliment, not an insult.’
The Anderson County Sheriff’s reserve deputy also shared the Bible passage Titus 2:6-8, which encourages young men to live wisely and be self-controlled.
Audiences first got to know Lawson and Katie in TLC reality show United Bates of America in 2012 before starring in UPtv reality spin-off Br1n9ing Up Bates, which aired for 10 seasons spanning 2015-2021.
It centered on the daily lives of devout Independent Baptist couple Gil and Kelly Jo Bates and their 19 children, which has since ballooned to 40 grandchildren.
