The American icon touched down in Sydney via private jet on Monday to kick off her Australian tour.

She made a glamorous entrance despite dressing down for her long-haul flight.

Oprah opted for a classy grey knit set for optimum comfort, along with a straw hat and sunglasses.

The talk show titan will host a series of live ‘in conversation’ appearances across the country throughout December, marking her first visit Down Under since 2010.

‘I’m beyond excited to return after ten years,’ Oprah said in a public statement.

‘The energy, warmth, and spirit I felt from audiences last time stayed with me. This tour is a chance to reconnect, reflect, and be reinspired – together. I can’t wait to share stories, ideas, and meaningful conversations about what’s possible in our lives moving forward.’

It was a cultural moment that saw her film four episodes of The Oprah Winfrey Show at the Sydney Opera House in 2010, which was temporarily rebranded the ‘Oprah House’.

That tour brought 300 ecstatic American fans with her and featured headline-grabbing moments, including surprise giveaways, a $250,000 donation to a cancer patient, and Hugh Jackman’s headline-making zip-line mishap during a live taping.

The trip, which cost Australian taxpayers $5 million, drew criticism at the time – but Oprah maintained it was a worthwhile investment in tourism.

The episodes eventually aired in 145 countries, giving global exposure to local landmarks.

Oprah will kick off her tour in Sydney on Thursday before travelling to Adelaide, Brisbane and Melbourne.
