Tyrese Gibson was booked on an animal cruelty charge after turning himself in on Friday, after a warrant for his arrest was issued last week by police in Atlanta.
The 46-year-old Fast & Furious actor was officially booked shortly before 6 a.m. at Fulton County Jail and now faces a misdemeanor charge of animal cruelty, according to CNN.
The star was wanted by law enforcement following an alleged incident in which a neighbor’s dog was found dead, and Fulton County Police Animal Services reportedly linked one of Gibson’s four Cane Corso dogs to the tragic accident.
Following his arrest, Gibson posted a $20,000 bond and has since been released, according to Captain Nicole Dwyer.
The Daily Mail has reached out to Gibson’s rep for comment but did not immediately hear back.
Dwyer also stated that the star’s attorney Gabe Banks is ‘aware’ that all four dogs must be turned over to the authorities amid the investigation.

Dwyer added that the four canines have yet to be given to authorities.
Gibson’s attorney told CNN on Friday that the actor ‘has cooperated fully with legal authorities and will continue to do so until this matter is resolved.’
The Hollywood actor has since found a new home for all four of his dogs after the fatal incident – which took place last month on September 18 when the star was away.
Earlier this week on Wednesday, Banks informed People: ‘Upon learning of this unfortunate accident, Mr. Gibson immediately made the difficult decision to rehome his dogs to a safe and loving environment.’
The R&B singer additionally ‘extends his deepest condolences to the family who lost their beloved dog to this tragic incident that occurred while Mr. Gibson was away from his home.’
The incident occurred in the Buckhead neighborhood of Atlanta near the respective homes of the parties involved, officials said.
A neighbor of the How You Gonna Act Like That singer contacted 911 claiming that one of Gibson’s dogs had maimed one of his own pets.
Following that incident, police got a search warrant and executed it on Gibson’s Atlanta home September 22, also getting an arrest warrant.

When officers got to Gibson’s home, neither he nor the canines were on the premises, according to Atlanta news station 11Alive.
The Watts, California, native is the owner of four Cane Corso Mastiffs, while the neighbor owned a Cavalier King Charles Spaniel, according to local reports.
The fate of Gibson’s four dogs initially remained unclear amid conflicting accounts from Gibson’s lawyer and local officials.
Dwyer previously told TMZ that Gibson had not met a deadline to surrender his canines last week.
Dwyer said that Gibson had received multiple warnings about letting his dogs off the leash to walk around.
Gibson’s ‘negligence’ led to the death of an ‘innocent animal,’ Dwyer added.
Police sources told the outlet that Gibson’s attorney said he needed to ‘get his affairs in order’ prior to turning in the canines.

He initially said the week of the violent incident that he would turn his pets over to Animal Services, according to 11Alive.
Gibson subsequently requested more time when officials visited him at home on September 27, police told CBS Atlanta.
