News Room : Britney Spears’ ex Kevin Federline claims ‘terrified’ sons cut contact with star after ‘shocking’ behavior

Britney Spears’ ex-husband Kevin Federline claims their two sons have once again cut contact with the singer after witnessing ‘shocking things’ at her home.

Federline, 47, alleged that their boys, Sean Preston, 20, and Jayden James, 19, are ‘terrified’, and that one of them expressed fears that ‘mom is going to die.’ He made the shocking claims during Thursday’s episode of Piers Morgan Uncensored.

‘[Britney] saw one of my sons one day this year, and he decided not to go back over there because of what he saw,’ he said in reference to Sean Preston.

‘The other one, Jayden, who’s my younger son, is 19 now — he’s been over there quite a few times over the past year, and he’s stopped seeing her in the last few months because of the situation.’ 

After he was asked why his sons don’t ‘want to be around her’ and what exactly they have seen, the former backup dancer said, ‘That’s not my story to tell.’

‘That’s my sons’ story to tell if they decide to. I mean, the things that they’ve seen are shocking, right?’ Federline said.

It comes after worrying footage and photos obtained by the Daily Mail, showed the troubled pop star looking unsteady at an upscale restaurant before swerving her car into the wrong lane of a highway, amid reports that Federline’s new memoir is ‘putting her in a tailspin.’

Federline alleged that their boys, Sean Preston, (R) 20, and Jayden James, 19, (L) are ‘terrified’, and that one of them expressed fears that ‘mom is going to die’ 

‘So shocking that one of my sons came to me and called me and was like, “I don’t know what to do. I’m afraid Mom is going to die.”‘

When Piers inquired if their sons were worried because of ‘substance abuse’ Federline replied, ‘absolutely.’ 

Federline says their sons are ‘worried about their mom,’ and that they ‘don’t know how to help because of what all of this has cost.’

Federline added that he wants Spears, 43, to ‘be able to share the type of relationship that I have with our kids.’ 

‘This isn’t about bringing her down. This is about telling the truth and trying to build her back up.’ 

Following her 2007 divorce from Federline, and after her 13-year long conservatorship began in 2008, Federline had majority custody of the boys, who later moved with him to Hawaii. 

In 2022 Federline revealed that the boys were estranged from their mother, and though there have been attempts at reconciliation since, they appear to have broken contact once again. 

In his newly released memoir, You Thought You Knew, Federline recounts several episodes in which he alleges Britney acted erratically around their sons.

Federline, who was married to the Toxic singer from 2004 to 2007, claims Britney ‘punched’ Preston in the face, knowingly gave Jayden shellfish despite his allergy, and at one point wished both children ‘dead.’

He also alleges that Britney reportedly watched her children sleep while standing outside their room holding a ‘knife in her hand’ and used cocaine while breastfeeding.

A representative for Britney has denied all claims, with the singer accusing Kevin of ‘gaslighting’ her and firing back at the allegations, writing on social media, ‘I 100 percent beg to differ.’ 

Spears’s representatives told the Daily Mail that Federline and others are ‘profiting off her,’ noting that child support arrangements with Federline had already concluded.

‘With news from Kevin’s book breaking, once again he and others are profiting off her and sadly it comes after child support has ended with Kevin,’ the spokesman said. ‘All she cares about are her kids, Sean Preston and Jayden James, and their well-being during this sensationalism.’

Federline writes in the book that Preston received a call from Spears while on a European vacation, during which she allegedly blamed Federline for ‘everything.’

After Preston confronted her, Federline recalls, ‘Her response was chilling: she told him she wished he, his brother, and me were all dead.’

Meanwhile, in Spears’s heated recent X message, she accused Federline of harboring hatred toward her.

‘Why is HE SO ANGRY,’ she wrote, adding, ‘The boy hates me and it is deep anger to literally say the things he is saying.’

The Toxic singer continued, ‘If you really love someone then you don’t help them by humiliating them,’ and described Federline’s behavior as ‘way worse than anyone could imagine.’

In a separate post, she called the ‘constant gaslighting from [her] ex-husband… extremely hurtful and exhausting.’

Spears also said she has felt ‘demoralized’ about the fractured relationship with her boys, writing, ‘I have always pleaded and screamed to have a life with my boys.’ 

The singer wrote, ‘Relationships with teenage boys is complex. I have felt demoralized by this situation and have always asked and almost begged for them to be a part of my life.’

‘Sadly, they have always witnessed the lack of respect shown by own [sic] father for me,’ Spears went on.

‘They need to take responsibility for themselves,’ she added.

‘With one son only seeing me for 45 min in the past 5 years and the other with only 4 visits in the past 5 years. I have pride too. From now on I will let them know when I am available.’

Spears continued, adding that she is the one who ‘gets hurt’ from the ‘white lies’ in Federline’s tell-all book.

Federline recounts in the memoir that although he has not spoken to Spears in years, he feels ‘an increasing urgency that I can’t ignore’ and fears that her behavior is ‘racing toward something irreversible.’

He writes, ‘The signs are all there: the erratic behavior, the isolation, the cycling of people around her, the refusal to accept help. It’s become impossible to pretend everything’s okay.’

He adds, ‘From where I sit, the clock is ticking, and we’re getting close to the eleventh hour. Something bad is going to happen if things don’t change, and my biggest fear is that our sons will be left holding pieces.

‘They love their mom. They’ve seen the red flags. But they don’t know how to help without being attacked, misunderstood, or blamed.’
