The Government of the Maldives has announced a 90-day free on-arrival tourist visa for Sri Lankan citizens visiting the country. The decision was revealed during the ongoing state visit of President Anura Kumara Dissanayake to the Maldives.
Effective from 29 July 2025, Sri Lankan travellers can obtain the visa upon arrival, provided they hold a valid passport and proof of sufficient financial means to support their stay. The facility is exclusively for tourism purposes.
The Maldivian Government stated that the initiative falls under the bilateral visa facilitation agreement between the two countries and is in line with existing Maldivian immigration laws and regulations.
